Value for Money in Tenerife

According to a report published today in Europa Press taxi fares have increased by more than two times the CPI (customer price index) in many areas of Spain.

Tarragona, Murcia and San Sebastian show the highest taxi fares while Santa Cruz de Tenerife has the lowest taxi fares of all with a daytime fare of 0.54 euros per km compared to Tarragona at 1.01 euros per km.

In these times of economic pressure, it’s good to know that there is resistance against rising prices. At €40 for a 4.5 hour excursion including pick-up and traditional Spanish tapas and refreshments, the Rafting Bike Tour represents value for money and an even cheaper option is to hire bikes for your own exploration of our lovely island in the sun.

Ha, no peddling needed when on a Rafting Bike! 22 miles of happy downhill gliding. No effort required. ;)

We went on this trip last week. I hate exercise but with a husband who thinks he’s action man and a 14 year old boy, we had to try bike rsfting. We live in Gran canaria, so finding something a little different to do was difficult. What a great day out. Great value, seeing Teide, tapas with wine or water, sunshine and free wheel down the island. Only bit of pedalling we did was when we reached the bottom and had to pedal a little along the beach. Mauricio and Tomas were great fun and very informative showing the guanche ‘timeshare’ and so on.
    Cannot recommend highly enough
